NextSet for iOS
Email support@homewardlabs.com. NextSet is built by one person, so expect a reply within a couple of days rather than within the hour.
If something is broken, including your iOS version and what you were doing when it happened makes a real difference to how fast it gets fixed.
Not currently, and that is deliberate. NextSet keeps your screen awake during a workout, because it is designed for a phone propped up where you can see it.
If you do switch apps or lock the screen and a rest period ends while you are away, NextSet will not sound an alert. When you come back it works out how much time actually passed, moves you to the next phase, and then pauses — so you can decide whether to carry on, rather than the app crediting you with rounds you did not train.
So the timer stays readable without you touching the phone mid-set. Normal auto-lock resumes as soon as the workout finishes or you leave the timer screen.
Untimed suits traditional strength work: you do your set at your own pace, tap Done when you are finished, and only the rest is counted down.
Timed counts the work phase down as well and moves on by itself, which suits circuits, HIIT, and timed cardio blocks.
They are midpoints of ranges commonly cited for each training goal — longer for maximum strength, shorter for endurance. They are a starting point, not a prescription, and every value can be adjusted. The health disclaimer shown when you first open the app has the important caveat: NextSet is a timer, not a coach, and it knows nothing about your fitness level or medical history.
NextSet remembers your last setup on the device itself. Deleting and reinstalling the app clears it, and settings do not sync between devices.
